Okay... This is gonna be a long long post with lots of pictures =P All from my New Zealand trip. Here we go...
I left Perth on the 25th of June and arrived in Auckland at about 8am on the 26th. My aunt picked me up and we went back to her house. I met my cousin and moved my things to the room I was gonna stay in. After contacting my darling, i went for a nap. But in less than 2 hours, my darling arrived with 2 of her friends and I was off to discover Auckland. The first place I went to was Karaoke!!! Lolz... But it was good for me cause I got to hear my darling sing again =)
Anyways, I spent a week in Auckland and these are the pics:
The view of the city before we cross the Harbour bridge... That tower is the Sky Tower.
A closer view of the Sky Tower. The place around it is called Sky City. I didn't manage to go up but they say the floor at the top of the tower is glass and you can see all the way down *gulp*. Lucky I didn't go... I'm afraid of heights >.<>
Here's the Harbour Bridge. See the railings at the side? They have tours that bring you walking all the way up. But I didn't manage to go for it as the wind was too strong. People could get blown off the bridge! My uncle also told me that if the wind is really strong, even cars get blown to the side... They have bungy jumping underneath the bridge as well ^^
Here's the night view of the highway. Nice lights huh? Just love how this pic turned out =)
Hehe... Looks cool eh? Was in the car and me and my darling just went crazy taking pictures. She just got a new digi cam recently so she's using it to the max ^^
My cousin brought me to the beach at Browns Bay. Was bout 15-20 minutes walk from my Aunt's house. The scenery is just amazing. You can see a mountain faraway beyond the sea. It's a volcano. I've forgotten the name but my cousin said it's still an active volcano. But it won't erupt anytime soon. Probably in 100 years? Interesting eh?
No prizes for guessing who's in the pic =P
Look at what we got from the beach!
On the way back while shopping at some stores, we saw this poodle tied outside a store. Its just so cute ^^. And it's HUGE!!! In this position, the doggy's head was at the height of my waist >.<
During the week when I was in Auckland with my darling, we went down to the city quite a few times. This was one of the stores on Queen Street. I just found it very funny. "Lord of the Kebabs" lolz... And the sign underneath it says "When it is this Good, Maybe we should have been Lord of the Pizza". Bwahahahahahhaaha....
After a week in Auckland, I left for Dunedin with my darling on the 3rd of July. The plane ride was rough and bumpy... Almost threw up >.<
Here's the view from the plane =) Told you my darling went crazy with her new digi cam ^^.
We caught a shuttle to go back to University College (the hostel for Uni of Otago) and through out the whole trip I was mesmerized by the scenery. It was AMAZING... Hills and trees and farms... Saw sheep, cows, horses... Very very peaceful place =)
One of the monuments in Dunedin.
Look at the size of the geese!!! Compare it with the small duck at the bottom right!!! When I saw it I seriously saw roasted geese flying in front of me =P they just look so YUMMY!!! Fat and juicy... hahaha....
Hehehe... Cadbury factory in Dunedin. I went for the tour and got alot of free chocs ^^. It's only 13 dollars for a student to go for the tour.
Just clowning around after the tour =) Anyone wanna join me for a ride?
Yep, we're just bored ^^. Guess which pair of shoes are mine =P
See the tall Cadbury silo behind me? During the tour we were brought all the way to the top and a ton of chocolate was poured down in a waterfall in less than 10 seconds ^^. It was just great to see so much chocolate at once =D
This was taken in the Otago Settler's Museum. I wonder how people manage to ride bikes like this. It was scary, almost fell off >.<
The building behind me is University of Otago's clock tower. It's their administration building. Its so nice... All very old buildings and nice scenery. There's a river in front of it as well.
This was at the railway station. I like this pic alot. It has a certain "feel" over it =D
The First Church of Otago. Just beautiful... simply beautiful...
The round stained glass window is called the Rose Window... I was in awe when I saw this church. But somehow I still couldn't find my faith...
One day in Dunedin, I went out for a walk with my "twin bro". I was gonna find a florist and make a booking for a dozen roses for my darling =) After making the booking, I bought a single rose as well to surprise her. On the way back, this happened:
Snow? I wish!!! It's HAIL!! And it HURTS when it hits you!! I got hit so many times >.< it =")">On the 7th of July, it was my "twin's" birthday. We had a sleep over at a friend's place and the next day we had brunch at KFC. I couldn't resist taking this picture:
McDonalds is just next door!!! Lolz =D
Okay, after a week in Dunedin, I had to leave to go back to Auckland... Was so sad... Didn't wanna leave my darling. But she was sweet enough to send me all da way to the airport =) And my friends were also nice enough to wake up early to send me off =D Thanks ya all!
When I was back in Auckland, I went to a place called Kelly Tarlton's. Its an underwater world kinda thing. But it had penguins!!!
Cute? Hehehe... there were so many of them!!! You can't see it in this pic but they poop everywhere >.<
Stingray bay. They were HUGE!!! And they seem to like human company =D
Fishies!!!
Me with Sharkie =P Clowning around again ^^
Before I managed to get my postcards from the gift shop, the fire alarm rang =( Here's a pic of the fire truck and other tourists who were evacuated from the building.
The people assured us that we wuld be able to go back in again in a while so they gave us this stamp on our hands. And we waited... and waited... Then the firemen reported that there was a problem that couldn't be fixed. So, the underwater world staff gave us complimentary tickets as an apology...
Here's the tickets... Could you believe I passed off as a CHILD?!?!! lolz.. not that I mind. It was cheaper than an adult ticket ^^;
On the last day before I left Auckland, I went to this place called Mount Eden. You can see the whole of Auckland here. It was just great...
Mount Eden was once a volcano. This is where the heart of the volcano was. Now it's just a really nice place to talk a walk =)
Here's me. It was very very windy *brrr...*
Well, we have come to the end of my trip. This was Auckland's last gift to me before I return to Perth: a rainbow. The symbol of hope =) Hope this cheers up some people out there.
There is always hope...
As sure as a rainbow after the rain,
There's always pleasure after pain.
