A student's nightmare

Fuh~ I can finally blog. Basically I blew my internet quota (yea, there's a quota for Aussie internet... sucks) and I had to survive with dial up speed for 3 days... Almost died... Haha...

I think everyone knows Indomie right? It's something every student (and mamak owner) can't live without.

It is literally a life saver ok... And yes, that is the WHOLE box you see. I always stock up with Indomie cause I can get rather lazy at times... It's about 8.80AUD for the whole box. Very worth it...

Anyways, one day I wanted to eat Indomie. So I prepared the pot to boil water and took my precious box out.

That's when I discovered...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

ONLY ONE LEFT WEI!!!

HOW ARH?!?!?!?!

Like this lo...

Hehehe... I know, I know, I'm siao.

But seriously, that is like every student's nightmare: our precious stash of instant noodles gone.

I will be getting a new box tomorrow XD

Anyways, after the exams, I went to Garden City with her. We were supposed to celebrate the end of exams but since I had to defer mine due to the terrible sickness, it wasn't much of a celebration...

I saw this interesting thing in The Reject Shop...

I could hardly believe my eyes... It's a CLEANING PLAYSET!!!

Is the person who invented this a genius or what?!?!?!

We can now train young kids to LOVE CLEANING!!!

NO MORE DIRTY ROOMS!!!!

Ok, I'm being dramatic here. Where to find a kid who will look at this toy and go "Can I have this?" lolx...

After shopping, we were on the way back to the car when it started raining. So we had to run back to the car XD

A nice surprise greeted us though...

You can't tell from the picture but the rainbow was really really REALLY clear. This is the first time I have seen such a beautiful rainbow.

But what made it really special was that she was with me =)

It's our first rainbow-viewing XD

TeeRak, remember what you told me ok? I am waiting at this end of the rainbow =)

Sick sick week...

Finally, I'm blogging again!

Was sick for almost a week, pure suffering. I fell sick on a Friday which was really really bad... Why?

Cause you can't find an Aussie doc on the weekends!!!

SIAO ARH?!?!?!

Weekend then no one get sick is it?!?!?!?!

I got so sick until one of my housemates came into my room and said "Do you want to go to the hospital's ER? You really look terrible."

But if I went to the hospital, I would have to wait for 6 hours to see the doc!!!

KANASAI!!!

I scared I go and wait, by the time the doc see me, my sick already doubled...

But I managed to survive and went to see a doc on Monday.

I also managed to defer my exams to a later date. However, I still went for 1 exam (Law) because I just wanted to get it over and done with.

So, now here I am.

Just wanna thank the people who took care of me while I was so so sick... I know I was a pain some time, but sorry la ya? Hehehe...

Anyways, to my special someone, this is for you...

You're my everything.

Sweet & Sour Fish (RK Style)

Okies, I tried something new today.

I made Sweet & Sour Fish!

Okay, I know in previous posts I've stated that I can't cook for peanuts. Apparently, I was just too lazy XD

Anyways, this is her favourite dish, so I decided to give it a go =)

Yeap... I documented my adventure XD (click to enlarge ^^)

  1. The ingredients: Tomato, Cucumber, Capsicum, Carrot, a can of Pineapple pieces and good ol' Maggi Tomato Sauce.
  2. Chop up all veges (If preparing a meal for a loved one, cut carrot into flower-like shapes to impress XD)
  3. Heat up some olive oil (just a little, too much oil and she'll accuse you of fattening her up) in a pot and fry carrots and capsicum for about 3 minutes.
  4. While waiting for the capsicum and carrots, mix Maggi Tomato sauce with a bowl of hot water and some sugar (add according to taste). When done, pour into pot.
  5. Bring it to a boil before adding tomatoes and cucumbers. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes. In the mean time, mix a teaspoon of cornflour with some water and mix it into the pot.
  6. Bring it to boil again and add cucumbers. Give it a good stir and let it simmer for about 2 minutes. Cover it and remove from heat.
  7. Heat up some oil in a pan. While waiting, cut some fish fillets into smaller slices.
  8. When pan is heated, fry fish slices.
  9. Place cooked fish on plate (or bowl... whatever makes you happy *rolls eyes*)
  10. Pour sauce over fried fish.

And TADAAAAAAAAA~~~~~~~~~

Sweet & Sour Fish (RK style) is done!!! XD

It goes great with rice and a side of fried egg with onions. Yummy Yum Yum!!!

Well, if any of you decide to try this recipe, do let me know how it turned out *winks*

p.s. TeeRak, I'm glad you enjoyed it =) It's to give you power for your exam tomorrow ^^

The duck and I

I went to a friend's house for dinner last night. After dinner, we sat down in front of the TV to watch Big Brother and just chit chat.

Then I saw something very familiar.

It was a yellow duck.

She used to have it in her car, but she took it out of the car after I *ahem* played with it too much...

But anyways, here's what happened...

I wasn't gonna take that insult from that darn duck!!!

So... this happened...

Then my friends called me to stop torturing the poor thing...

STUPID DUCK STILL WANNA DENY!!!

ROAR!!!

Hehehe... No, I didn't eat it. I was good enough to return it back to its owner...

But it did make me get a craving for Peking Duck though...

Fortune restaurant, here I come!!!

But before that... I need to start studying for Law Marketing.

Wuuuuuuuu~~~ T____________T

Dear Mr President

Dear Mr. President
(feat. Indigo Girls)

Dear Mr. President,
Come take a walk with me.
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me.
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly.

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street?
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep?
What do you feel when you look in the mirror?
Are you proud?

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why?

Dear Mr. President,
Were you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
Are you a lonely boy?
How can you say
No child is left behind?
We're not dumb and we're not blind.
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell.

What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away?
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine.

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye?

Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you 'bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing 'bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
Oh

How do you sleep at night?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Dear Mr. President,
You'd never take a walk with me.
Would you?

Lyrics from http://www.azlyrics.com/

I don't think most people know about this song. It's from Pink's "I'm not dead" Album.

She's currently on tour in Australia and her last concert is in Perth on the 10th of June (if I'm not wrong). No, I didn't manage to get tickets cause no one wanted to go with me and the tickets sold out really fast... not to mention it's exam period for me...

This is currently my favourite song. The music is good, the lyrics are even better.

The line "And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay?" means so much... so so much...

Looking at the world as it is today, I wonder how some of us can sleep at night.

Pink rulez!!!

Why Subway Should Not Hire Small Kids

I love Subway in Aus. The people here REALLY load up on the ingredients for your sub. It's really worth your money.

Anyways, I usually go to this branch near my house (about 3 mins drive) but one day I decided to buy it from Victoria Park since I was already there and it was lunch time.

I went in, and saw 2 kids serving people. They couldn't be more than 15 years old. One of them had really black hair and it's obvious that he dyed it. The first impression was "New Emo Generation" lolx...

This kid was the one to serve me. I ordered a Vege Delight as I was on a vegetarian diet for a week.

Here's what a Vege Delight looks like:

Looks good right? The lettuce, tomatoes, onions, olives, pickles, capsicum and cucumbers with a salad dressing of your choice toasted with melted cheese~~ Sounds and looks heavenly right?

Back to the story, first off, the kid's service super sucked. He looked at me as if I killed his parents, took away his PSP and forced him to work at Subway for meager pay of stale bread.

As usual, he asks what bread I want and what cheese. I love their Italian herbs and cheese bread *drools* toasted with Swiss cheese *drools even more*

This kid, took almost 5 minutes to separate 2 slices of cheese!!! I'm like "Shit la... Just give me the 2 slices. It's not coming out of your paycheck".

When he finally got it toasted and asked what salads I want, I made my order and he gave me this...

WTF?!?! Looks like just plain bread man...

The inside...

Count the veges!!! There's 2 cucumbers, about 4 pickles, 3 tomato slices, 3 olives, so little lettuce that you can barely see it and the dressing!!! THE DRESSING!!! I asked for Honey Mustard sauce and he SQUIRTED A DROP!!!

And it cost me AUD3.95 = RM10.70.

!*Y&#*($&*(@()#*(!&@#@#^@*(@!()

A picture speaks a thousand words XD

I was so determined to get him fired... then I saw the manager... who was another kid. Maybe not even 18. KANASAI BETUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I left, vowing never to step foot into THAT particular branch anymore!!!

And also made a mental note to myself to blog about this XD

On another note, I had a sudden craving for Kang Kung Belacan. The mamak place near my house in KL makes the best Kang Kung Belacan Ayam. Super miss it... *droolsssssssssssss*

Looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo GOOD!!! (pic taken from here)

But when I went to Subiaco markets to buy fruits and vegetables, I saw this...

p.s. I know that vege in the pic is not kang kung cause they don't have stock.

THE PRICE SIAO OR NOT?!?!?!?! *faints*

Well, when I first arrived here, my dad told me that apparently Kang Kung is like a delicacy here... *shakes head*

I miss KL food la.....................................

*starts chanting "Mamak! Mamak! Mamak!"

Emo Intermission

Can something that never officially started, end?

How can a heart be broken by a lost of something that never was?

Could it be that there really was something?

Something that I was too blind to see?

Something that I took forgranted?

If life has a "Reset" or "Restart" button, I'd press it. Without a thought. I will.

If there was a "Terminate" or "Self-destruct" button, I'd press it twice as fast.

Maybe I'm just not meant to love or be loved.

It's time for this little puppy to give up and go sit in a corner.

This little puppy doesn't deserve love.

The puppy knows that.

But... why is the little puppy still fishing for love?

Quickie Update

I just felt so bad that my blog is so full of words these days when it used to be full of pictures...

So, here's a picture to help "beautify" my blog a little bit XD

No prizes for guessing whose legs are those...

Just something I edited while a certain someone is fast asleep.... I imagine me & you =)

Groupmates

I have just finished a whole load of assignments. 3 major assignments in 1 week. I'm so suicidal. Hahaha... But I HAVE managed to survive!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA!!!

Okay... back to assignments...

I have been thinking, I don't believe I've ever had to do any group work during primary and secondary school. It has all been individual work... from homework to projects even down to Kemahiran Hidup (where you make lame woodcrafts like ping pong bats).

So it is funny when you spend 11 years in primary and secondary school fending for yourself, doing individual work and trying to be number one when it came to ranking after final exams, and suddenly when you go into college or university, you are expected to do group work.

I know that working in groups do help you learn much needed skills in the real world like leadership and teamwork. But I guess not every group works out.

I have had such bad experience with group members since I started my postgrad studies... But nothing compares to this particular one this semester. She was in my group last semester as well but this semester was really super unbearable...

In your opinion, who would be the worst group member ever?

A. Always leaving classes early with excuses such as "I have dance practice" and "I am catching a movie later".

B. Calling up to postpone group meetings with the excuse "I have dance practice later".

C. Complains about being super stressed and unable to cope but still can add in the comment "Oh, I have planned my 12 day holiday over Australia when I graduate".

D. Even after you sympathize with how she didn't do well in her exams, you decide to let her do the "easier" parts of the assignment, she still does a crappy job and is late in submitting it to the group.

So? What do you think?

Can you guess which one makes the worst groupmate ever?

A? B? C? Or D?

The answer is...

ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!

I can't believe that these kind of people can exist man... I have just so so much to complain about this particular person. I mean...

COME ON LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know sometimes I have unreasonable expectations... but this is really not one of those times...

I believe that there are several "gradings" of assignments. The "Enough to Pass", "Normal", "Good" and "Great". I always aim for Great whenever I can, and this assignment that I had with this groupmate had the potential to be a "Great" assignment.

Sighz...

Oh well, what's done is done. Just needed to ramble about it for a while. Now that everything's over, I feel SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better ^^

Now it's time to study for exams... Luckily only got 2 papers =P

Ciaoz peeps...

Btw, if ya think you can beat my bad group members experience, do share XD
